Update on Hulk

We went in today to have Dr. Fuller do his check up prior to his amputation and after looking at the new X-ray Dr. Fuller doesn’t feel comfortable doing the amputation so we are going to have to go back to the Small Animal Hospital. Dr. Fuller said the amount of calcification and tissue damage is extensive so it won’t be a routine amputation. Hulk will have to get the entire leg removed at the hip not just a partial with reconstruction. The procedure is going to be extremely expensive so I am looking into getting a loan from the bank, starting a gofundme account and looking at any type of financial aid for it. He has his appointment with the orthopedic vet on Wednesday and they will give me the exact price and set up the day for the procedure. I am so very nervous and hope we can come up with the money asap to get the process started.

  1. Oh wow I’m really sorry, this is a tough situation. Amputation is hard enough without throwing a curveball like this into it. Have you considered checking out a veterinary teaching hospital? They often have special funds for hardship situations, you may want to look into it.

Let us know what the oncologist says OK?
